Montreal West—A Church with a Vision,
A Church on the Move
June 5, 2005 was a memorable day for the Montreal West Church of God of Prophecy. After months of prayer, negotiations, a change of direction, and lots of hard work, the Lord allowed this dynamic congregation to move into their new facility. The church’s new facility speaks clearly of the heart vision of twenty-nine year old Senior Pastor Trevor Reid and the entire congregation. The 18,000 square foot office facility is being transformed into a dynamic, multi-ministry center that will impact Montreal for many years to come. The facility presently houses a beautiful upstairs sanctuary, education space, church offices, and several other office tenants whose rent helps pay the bills.

Located directly across from a prominent Underground Metro station as well as a bus stop, the ministry center is on a main highway connected to the motorway in Montreal. All of this will greatly increase the visibility of the congregation and assist in harvesting today’s Montreal for Christ.

Pastor Reid stated: "We feel that we have entered a Kairos moment in which the Lord is opening a wider door of ministry. We are now positioned to minister to people across economic, cultural, and language barriers. This move will definitely stretch us in our commitment to the Lord and His harvest, and we are excited about it!"

The first service in the new facility began with a caravan from the old property. With horns blaring, everyone could feel the excitement of this historical moment. After a prayer and praise time in front of the building, the large crowd moved upstairs to begin its first service in the new sanctuary. With a crowd of over 330 the church was filled with praise and the power of God. Before the service concluded, several received Christ as their Savior. International Minister of Outreach William M. Wilson spoke during that first service and conducted a three-day revival following. Wilson shared: "I was so honored to be at the first-service in this exciting, new facility. The Montreal West congregation is impressive. They are anointed, committed, excited, and united to reach Montreal. I believe that this church and young pastor are one of the bright spots in North America for the Church of God of Prophecy. I wish everyone could have joined in this special moment with them."
